POSITION Regional Development Manager JOB SUMMARY The Regional Development Manager (RDM) is responsible for the achievement of targeted goals for assigned Walk, Ride, and Chapter initiatives.  The RDM is part of the Fund Development team.   REPORTS TO The Regional Development Manager reports to the Director of Development. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Regional Responsibilities Leads the fund development efforts in assigned region Represents the Chapter at events Engages the public by representing the Chapter and speaking at community events Acts as the Chapter’s regional media and public relations spokesperson in assigned region Works to meet budgeted income goals for regional fund development activities Responsible for managing social media account while adhering to Chapter social media guidelines Works in conjunction with assigned Regional Program Manager(s) through monthly meetings to involve patients and families in awareness and fundraising opportunities Other duties as assigned Event Responsibilities Works in conjunction with marketing staff to achieve marketing and PR objectives for assigned event(s) Responsible for the recruitment, stewardship, and retention of strong and active committee chairs and members, and the management of committees in the assigned region Works with Director of Development to ensure that event(s) are operating within budgetary expense guidelines Fund Development Works to successfully implement all Peer-to-Peer fundraising initiatives, including but not limited to: Walk/Ride to Defeat ALS                              Community of Hope   One Dollar Difference                                                Friends and Family Stewardship Teams, Walkers, Key Club                             Team Week Kick-Offs                                                        Logistics Corporate Engagement                                   Corporate Recognition Program Revenue Recovery QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY SKILLS Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of professional experience in fundraising and event management required. Knowledge of Peer-to-Peer fundraising models preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.   Must be comfortable with initiating traditional fundraising techniques, i.e. cold calling, overcoming objectives, asking for the gift, etc. Experience with volunteer management preferred. Experience using CRM database programs preferred. Team player who enjoys interaction with professionals, peers, volunteers, and those served by the organization. Ability to keep robust records in Chapter’s donor database. A skilled communicator, able to balance diverse agendas and points of view, while maintaining a sense of common purpose and organizational vision. Able to handle confidential information and maintain high confidentiality. Able and willing to drive a car and/or a van within the state of Florida. May require occasional travel outside of Florida for regional or national meetings. Able to work evenings and weekends when necessary. Requires approximately 40% travel.  Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and a good driving record. Must maintain required insurance on automobile driven for business purposes. Ability to move about to retrieve files and able to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Must pass a satisfactory background check that includes drug testing and motor vehicle record check.
