What we're looking for: Are you looking to gain some work experience and build your skills in development?  We are seeking an ambitious, energetic, and collaborative individual to serve as the organization's part-time (20 hours per week) Development Assistant.  The Development Assistant is responsible for providing general administrative support to the development team, working effectively with team members to achieve development goals. The Development Assistant also assists with special, fundraising, and other organization events.  This position requires tremendous accuracy, excellent attention to detail, solid follow-up skills, and the ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple projects.  Usual hours of work are scheduled daytime from Monday through Friday, but some evenings and weekend hours may be required. What you'll be doing: Provide general administrative support to the development department Assist with special and fundraising events, open houses, donor receptions and other Easterseals Florida events Assist with all aspects of special event planning, execution and logistics (materials, supplies, publicity, bulk mailings, ordering goods and services) Collect materials needed for events, including making pick-ups and deliveries Input, track and update donor information into Raiser's Edge upon receipt. Create reports, prepare donor lists, and run queries Make requests (via phone and in writing) for sponsorships and other gifts Ensure budgetary compliance for events by tracking income and expenses Hours of work are scheduled daytime from Monday through Friday, but some evenings and/or weekend hours may be required Travel is required What we value: An associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or A minimum of a high school diploma or GED and two to three years related administrative experience and/or training (preferably in a nonprofit development office) Due to the need to drive for the organization to attend events and for other development needs, you must be at least 21 years old and have reliable transportation Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills; professional phone skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills Significant attention to detail, superior organizational and writing skills and the ability to work quickly and efficiently.
