2020 has been a year to remember (and it’s only August!). Due to COVID-19, we AFP Central Florida are unable
to host National Philanthropy Day’s in person event. However, we recognize all the good that is taking place
in our community and want to take some time to highlight organizations who are helping those in need during
this difficult time.
We are asking for narrative summaries up to 750 words detailing the work that your organization/your donors/your
volunteers have done recently to help make this time a little less difficult. Has your organization revamped
your annual fundraiser to make it work as a virtual event? Have your volunteers stepped up (in person or from home)
to help your organization continue to run smoothly during this uncertain time? Has a donor come forward to help
your organization make it through these hard times by helping with a project or program? We want to hear these
stories and highlight all the good in our community.
Please submit your narrative by Friday, August, 28th at 11:59 p.m. to be considered. The five chosen submissions
will receive a write up in the November/December Orange Appeal magazine and be invited to take part in our virtual
National Philanthropy Day celebration on Thursday, November 12th. Each chosen submission will also be featured on our social
media platforms with a two-minute video highlighting the work they are doing in our community. These videos will be shared
throughout the week leading up to the November 12th celebration.
